1. Family Homestay

The family homestay option is the best fit for students looking for a great deal of interaction with local Argentines and who are interested in joining in the host family's daily life and customs. These families are well acquainted with the city of Buenos Aires, the porteño (Buenos Aires) culture, and greatly expedite the student's immersion process.

Families can be conformed by a señora, a married couple with small children, a parent with their college age children, etc. Students receive two daily meals, often shared with the family, and can take advantage of the opportunity to practice Spanish on a daily basis.

2. Shared Apartment

The shared apartment option is the best fit for independent students seeking to live with other young native Spanish speakers living in Buenos Aires. These individuals are well acquainted with the city of Buenos Aires and provide an excellent resource for expediting the student's immersion process. Apartment mates are students or young professionals living, working, and/or studying in Buenos Aires, generally between the ages of 20-32, and students may have from one roommate to eight other young people (relative to the size of accommodation) living in Buenos Aires. Students in shared apartments cook their own meals and experience a great deal of independence, yet are still able to take advantage of the knowledge of their apartment-mates also living in Buenos Aires as well as practicing their Spanish.

For those students who want more of a back-packer experience, Expanish offers three different hostel options where you can meet and live with other young, intrepid travellers. Whether you want a stylish, boutique hostel in the bohemian neighborhood of San Telmo, a smaller, more familial hostel in the middle of the city, or a modern hostel in the popular chic neighborhood of Palermo we have something to fit your needs!

Hostel BA Stop offers a tranquil, cozy place for travellers and students to relax in the heart of Buenos Aires, only a block from 9 de Julio and Avenida de Mayo and close to all major subway and bus routes. This hostel is a perfect base to explore the city and is only a 15-20 minute walk to Expanish! Students will stay in 6 person dorms where free lockers are available for use in each room with shared, separate male and female bathrooms. You will also be able to enjoy the many services provided, such as:

Hostel Giramondo

Hostel Giramondo is perfect for those students who want to live in the trendy neighbourhood of Palermo Soho.
