The school we attended was perfect for us. The staff and teachers were amazingly friendly and the good mix of people at the school made it the experience it was. The class sizes were small which I found made it easier to learn at my own pace but plenty of opportunities were made available to get together with all the other students.

Spanish Teaching Methods

Print E-mail

Our ViaSpanish Spanish teaching methods combine a variety of successful methodologies in order to ensure the most effective courses possible for our students studying Spanish in Latin America.

Teaching Methods:

  • Small Groups. Our group classes are amongst the smallest offered in South America, the average class size is 4, to ensure students benefit from partner and group activities as well as receiving focused and specialized attention from their teacher.

  • Flexibility. Because of small class sizes, teachers are able to adapt classes to student levels and interests.

  • Well-Rounded Learning. Students participate in many oral exercises mimicking real life situations, as well as written work, games, songs, and other fun activities to help students learn and understand Spanish quickly and efficiently. Classes are taught in Spanish at all levels and students are taught both a “neutral” form of Spanish as well as local variations.

  • Teachers. Our ViaSpanish Spanish teachers are native Spanish speakers, local to the ViaSpanish destination region. Each language teacher is a qualified professor, with university-level language certifications.

  • School Environment. All our schools are situated in central and convenient areas of the city, close to public transportation, homestays and apartments, and local attractions. Our Spanish language teachers and ViaSpanish staff members are professional, energetic, and committed to student learning.

  • Study Materials. All study materials and Spanish books are included with each class, letting students focus on their learning.

  • Weekly Activities. Classroom learning is complemented by practical learning through weekly cultural activities, sports games, and workshops from wine tasting to photography.

  • Local Contact. ViaSpanish puts an emphasis on contact with local Latin Americans so that students can put their skills to use with native speakers through weekly activities, workshops, homestays, and more.

  • Student Commitment. ViaSpanish students are those who are dedicated to learning Spanish and are goal-oriented. With the proper student commitment to using each of the tools ViaSpanish provides for effective language learning, students will be showing off their Spanish skills in no time!

Bariloche, Argentina

I booked my Spanish language course through ViaSpanish and undertook my one week course ... in San Carlos de Bariloche. The crowd running the school were very professional yet also very friendly. My tutor, Gimena, was absolutely excellent - very patient, smiley and helpful and she delivered a great range of activites in the lessons. She encouraged a huge amount of dialogue within our group or 4 students and always appeared interested, even when we were speaking at the rate of 20 words a minute! I learnt a great deal from her. The school itself also offered some kind of activity outside of classes every day. This could be a meet-up for Salsa in the evening, a group walk in the local green and hilly areas or a volunteer trip to teach English to kids in a less advantaged community. Also the breaktimes coincided with most classes, so it was easy to meet a good range of people during the week. Many dinners out or meet-ups in a bar took place as a result of this! An excellent venue, and a good price - I´d recommend it to anyone, regardless of your level of Spanish. Can´t wait to go back!!
